Essay Questions
Each year we email newly admitted and current College students and ask them for essay topics. We receive several hundred responses, many of which are eloquent, intriguing, or downright wacky. As you can see from the attributions, the questions below were inspired by submissions from UChicago students and alumni. UChicago Supplement Just about any strong college essay will answer these four questions: Who Am I? Why Am I Here? What is Unique About Me? What Matters to Me? While the essay can be about any topic, the Common App provides a few suggestions to help students start out on the right foot Stanford Short Essays. We ask applicants to write a short essay on each of the following three topics. For the second essay, transfer applicants must choose one of the two listed prompts. There is a word minimum and a word maximum for each essay. The Stanford community is deeply curious and driven to learn in and out of the classroom
